Midnight Lust
By: Lilah R. Weller

I wake, bloodlust surging through my brain.
There is little I can do, but to try and stop the pain.
I rise to my feet, to find myself unstable,
Having to support myself upon the bedside table.
I slowly, and painfully, climb out my window,
Searching. Searching for what I have lost outside my rainbow.
Black and white is all I see,
For mere colors are oblivious to me.
I must feed, and feed I shall,
For this is the sacred feasting hour.
I get my bearings, soon able to walk,
My once colorful skin white as chalk.
I wander along, those like me all around,
Just enough to witness all that have passed upon the ground.
I know my destination, soon to be,
To make my love someone just like me.
I reach her house to find her asleep,
Same as all others do that have their keep.
I slowly advance her window,
As quiet and calm as a weeping willow,
To find it unlocked, my key in this quest,
I reach for my heart, deep in my vest.
I feel no beat, just peace,
Never to hear again that ungrateful beat.
I am always welcome in her home,
For she told me on the phone.
I proceed with my careful deed,
With consideration for all I need.
I touch her face, warm with blood,
What of which I wish to flood.
She awakens slowly, to find me over her body,
A cold, evil corpse, dead and naughty.
She sits up, unaware of my intentions,
And gives me a hug, one with tension.
She is confused why I am there,
I told that she should not care.
I suddenly bite into her,
Making her blood wash all over.
She moans a deep word,
Not ever meant to be heard
As I take full possession of her.
I feel my pain go away,
Sometimes I always wish for it to stay,
The warm sweetness clouds over me,
Something no one ever showed me.
I removed my lips from her wet neck,
The only color I will ever see from now on・ed.
She asks what I did, and I told her I do not kid.
I once again asked her if she wanted immortality,
Relieving her of all this profanity.
She must have thought about her life,
What curses her life had about her. I felt her strife.
I could make it all go away,
Just one drink before today.
She replied in a tone so low,
Yes, because I love her so.
I pulled out a knife from my pocket,
Feeling like removing an eye from its socket.
I hear a click, and then make a nick,
My blood spilling out as the clock ticked.
I told her to drink, but she refused,
Said I had taken too much abuse.
I reassured her and spread some on her lips,
Then inlaid atop a most fine kiss.
She pressed herself to me,
Seeing all my memories like a story.
Once she had her fill, she lay motionless on the sill.
Now my job was done,
Now I must wait before the fun.
She awoke to her mother’s screams,
Terrified of her midnight dream.
She saw no color, only black and white,
Soon her blood-bonded husband shall come to claim his wife.
They will then leave this place, away from the light,
Something that they both will learn to fight.
This is the end of their pitiful lives,
Something they will never hide,
From now on they are one,
Eventually, to make a son.
That is when this story starts again,
Once the young boy turns five years more than ten.
A vampire finds himself trying to turn his love into a vampire herself, so they can be together for eternity.
